PhilCare revolutionizes health info access with mobile app

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - PhilCare, in its commitment to provide the best patient care to its members, has launched the PhilCare Mobile App — an access to updated and comprehensive information right at its customers’ fingertips.

Recognizing that most health consumers regularly seek information online and that mobile devices are now outnumbering personal computers, PhilCare is the first health maintenance provider to bring this kind of service innovation to its members.

Designed to function as a PhilCare member’s quick reference guide, the app gives access to lists of more than 700 affiliated hospitals and clinics and over 16,000 licensed physicians and dentists.

The PhilCare Mobile App features five buttons on the home screen leading to complete lists of PhilCare-affiliated hospitals, clinics and doctors. Clinics and hospitals can be searched based on cities or regions, while doctors and dental providers are searchable based on their affiliations or specializations.

According to Levi Umali, AVP for ITG of PhilCare, the app was designed for smartphones because of portability and with today’s technology, the capability to handle continuous uninterrupted data stream and support multimedia software applications.

Compatible with all devices powered by Android 2.3.3 or higher version, the PhilCare Mobile App is downloadable for free through the PhilCare website http://www.philcare.com.ph/app/php.

“The PhilCare Mobile App brings convenience to our members. They do not need to call any hotline for provider information anymore because it will be right at their fingertips,” Umali said.

PhilCare, which recently celebrated its 30th year in the Philippines, said the launch of the mobile application is only one of the many innovations lined up for its members.

“We continuously explore ways to serve our members better by connecting to them more directly, and providing them fast, convenient and useful information,” said Jaeger Tanco, PhilCare executive vice president and chief operating officer.

“Hopefully, the PhilCare Mobile App will give a quick and efficient access to information for our more than 200,000-strong members through the updated list of PhilCare-affiliated hospitals, clinics, and doctors, anytime and anywhere,” Tanco said.

“The mobile app is also a step in the right direction for our company as we move in sync with the changing times. As we celebrate PhilCare’s first 30 years, we will continue to innovate the way we do our business in order to ensure convenience and good customer service for every PhilCare member,” Tanco added.
