Shell launches new V-Power fuels with DYNAFLEX

MANILA, Philippines - Pilipinas Shell recently launched its brand new formulations for its line of premium Shell V-Power fuels. These new formulations are the products of over five years of research and development conducted across the brand’s five fuels technology centers worldwide – and have been co-engineered and recommended by the distinguished Formula 1 race team, Scuderia Ferrari.

This is now Shell’s most advanced line of premium fuels – enriched with the brand’s proprietary DYNAFLEX technology – and the good news is, they are already available at Shell stations nationwide.

DYNAFLEX is an additive that Shell’s fuels engineers have designed; and it works by actively removing and preventing further buildup of fuel system deposits in your car’s engine – particularly in its fuel system components, such as the fuel injector’s nozzle holes and the inlet valves (for gasoline engines). These deposits can pile up, and when they do, they are not easy to remove.

From a driver’s perspective, the accumulation of these deposits eventually reduces the efficiency of your engine, and hence, your car’s performance. Therefore the new Shell V-Power Racing and Shell V-Power gasoline fuels claim to address this problem by tackling it at its source – that is, by removing these performance-robbing deposits with the aid of DYNAFLEX.

Beyond the performance-robbing deposits, another source of reduced engine efficiency is friction. Friction is a natural result of the moving mechanical parts in your engine; but keeping it as low as possible is ideal, because it only becomes wasted energy that could otherwise have been used towards powering your car. So what the new Shell V-Power Racing and V-Power Gasoline does, is it immediately coats critical parts of your engine with a protective layer of molecules that helps reduce friction. This friction-reducing action is another perk from the proprietary DYNAFLEX formula, and benefits even the hard-to-reach areas, including that in between the piston ring and the cylinder wall. Effectively, the piston slides up and down more smoothly – and this also contributes towards better engine performance.

In a similar manner, the new Shell V-Power Diesel is also designed to help restore a diesel engine’s performance by helping to remove deposits that may have accumulated in the fuel injectors, over time.

“We are constantly faced with the challenge to keep up with the rapid evolution of vehicle technology and the changing needs of our customers,” said Pilipinas Shell Vice President for Retail, Anthony Lawrence Yam. “This is why we have spent over half a decade of research and development to produce our best-ever fuel – the new Shell V-Power.”

And to celebrate the Philippine launch of the new Shell V-Power fuels, more than 100 participants – including Shell representatives; OEM partners: Ferrari, BMW, Ducati, BMW Motorrad, Subaru, MINI, Mazda, Hyundai, Mercedes Benz & Scania; motorcycle enthusiasts and media guests – joined the Shell V-Power convoy that involved over 50 vehicles, starting at different Shell stations. Shell V-Power Brand Manager Mark Malabanan, together with Retail Marketing Director and Strategy Manager, Kit Bermudez led the convoy from Shell Mamplasan, through the SLEX, and finally converging into a large, continuous, circular convoy at the Mall of Asia globe roundabout, last June 8.

The participants then proceeded to the SMX Convention Center, where the formal Shell V-Power launch ceremonies were held. Also in attendance were Shell Fuels Scientist, Mae Ascan – to talk more about this latest formulation – and Shell V-Power celebrity ambassadors, Yassi Pressman and Jericho Rosales.
