Christoph Klapper and the new Audi RS4 Avant

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Early this year, Audi Philippines and Audi AG once again brought in the Audi Driving Experience to the Philippines. A complete array of premium Audi S models where offered to participants who experienced their individual sporty performance capabilities while being challenged to drive in the racetrack. German instructors conducted and supervised the different exercises sending off the attendees with excitement about the Audi experience.

One of these German Instructors is Christoph Klapper. Born in Koblenz, Germany, Christoph joined Audi AG and started to work for the Audi Driving Experience (ADE) events in 1991. After completing the Audi Instructors Training in 2005, Klapper became a certified instructor and has since been traveling to several countries where ADE goes on tour.

As an Audi Certified Driver, Christoph Klapper is an expert in driving Audis, as well as getting behind the wheel of any kind of prototypes and the latest models—including the new RS4 Avant.

Christoph showed off the capabilities of the RS4 at the Clark Speedway in Angeles, Pampanga. “The RS4 is a very sporty and aggressive car to drive, but it is very stable thanks to the quattro all-wheel drive system. I can easily do different maneuvers on the race track with all the speed and power that I want, but with assurance that the car is always tightly gripped on the road. It’s really one of the best Audi cars I’ve ever driven!” he remarked.

The new RS4 Avant is a medium-size wagon with the RS badge. Audi models that carry the RS badge are the sporty versions. The RS4 Avant combines tremendous power with practicality. It has a 4.2-liter V8 with a fuel-stratified injection system. This engine puts out 450hp for a top speed of 250 kph. The acceleration is also quick with 430Nm of torque; which is why 0-100 kph is achieved only in 4.7 secs. In spite of its power and speed, fuel consumption is 9.35 km/liter.

The racy sound from the engine comes from its sport exhaust system. The RS sport suspension as well as quattro all-wheel drive are standard, making it equally stable in the rain as well as in the dry. This wagon looks sporty with 20-inch tires with 5-V-Spoke design in a Titanium look.

The Audi RS4 Avant available in the Audi showroom comes with a 7-speed S-tronic transmission. Several driver assistance options are included such as the Audi Hold Assist and Audi Parking System Plus. The Audi Drive Select allows the driver to choose different modes of drivability. To top it all off is an audiophile-quality Bang & Olufsen sound system.

Like its previous generation, the RS4 is produced in Audi’s quattro GmbH factory in Neckarsulm, Germany.

For information on the available Audi models on display visit any of the Audi showrooms located in Greenhills, Alabang and Global City or contact 7270381 to 85.
