Isuzu launches 2009 Alterra
I actually mentioned it last week in my column…Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) has a knack of bringing in timely upgrades to their products that keep their customers coming back for more. Case in point: the 2009 Isuzu Alterra.
While the Isuzu Alterra has been snuggly sitting in its safe little market share corner for a number of years now, IPC thought it judicious to throw in a number of upgrades – if only to assure customers of their offering’s continued value-added proposition. Officially launched just before the long Christmas break, the 2009 Alterra boasts a slew of upgrades.
First off, there are the all-new body colors. For 2009, the Isuzu Alterra will be available in the limited monotone color, Starry Black. Other monotone colors are Omega White Pearl and Sterling Silver. For two-tone color combinations, the Alterra will be offered in Starry Black, Chardonnay Gold, Nautilus Blue and Nebula Gray. There’s also the new-design 16-inch six-spoke alloy wheels, as well as a new-design circular tailpipe finisher. The 2009 Alterra’s door handles also now have a chrome treatment. As do the power-folding side mirrors. The exterior upgrades are rounded out by the projector headlamps with foglamps in front, a reverse camera and a four-eye back-up sensor at the rear
Inside, as is expected from upgraded Isuzu vehicles, high-resolution 7-inch headrest-mounted LCD monitors that complement the 2009 Alterra’s 5.1 surround audio-video entertainment system can be found. There’s also the new integrated audio-video console box that makes it convenient for backseat occupants to plug in their in-car entertainment accessories like iPods and the like. As such, the 2009 Alterra makes a convincing argument for itself where tech geeks are concerned.
“We at Isuzu believe that our customers deserve only the best,” said IPC President Keiji Takeda during the launch. “So we keep finding ways to improve our vehicles, even if they cost us more. We have long discovered that car buyers appreciate quality and value even in the smallest of details. And I’m proud to say that the 2009 Alterra is excellent down to the last detail.”
The 2009 Alterra is still powered by the trustworthy 3.0-liter 4JJ1-TC common-rail direct-injection diesel engine, which already meets Euro 3 emissions standards. Curious? Do check out the 2009 Alterra at an Isuzu dealership near you. In the meantime, we’ll be bugging our friends from Isuzu for a test drive so that we can give you the lowdown on its performance soon.
