FRONTIER: MOST WANTED

-
Never has a pickup triggered such sustained interest from among automotive enthusiasts like that created by the Nissan Frontier, assembled and distributed by Universal Motors Corporation (UMC).
The Old Truck
Flashback to the 80s, owning a pickup then was like having a hardworking blue-collared employee at your service, tasked to carry on with the bulkiest of jobs and the most menial work for its masters.

Called then as a truck, this modest carrier went through the day shouldering heavy loads and other cargo items, transporting goods from one destination to another.

The old truck was not as glamorously-fashioned as it is today. After plying the routes of the most far-flung areas with its body covered with dust and mud, the truck went home abused but unscathed. But despite the dirt it reaped, it was happy to have served its owners well.
Frontier Breaks Stereotypes
UMC’s Nissan pickups clearly broke stereotypes with the introduction of its better-looking, power-steering pickup truck in the market in 1991.

Throughout the decade, the company made a series of pickup hits with the introduction of its Ultra Power Pickup loaded with power steering, power windows and power doorlocks.

In 1995, UMC’s Nissan Eagle Series soared to new heights as it shook standards by offering the most advanced features in pickups.

Morphing into a handsomely-elegant Nissan Frontier in 1998, UMC packed its benchmark product with a lot of modern amenities while retaining its brute strength beneath its hood.

The Frontier was the first pickup in the local market to be equipped with an automatic transmission and a driver-side airbag in 1999.
Pickup On Top
The Frontier can aptly be called the "Guru of Pickups". Seasoned by time yet showing no signs of slowing down, it continues to accelerate in terms of dominating the double cab compact pickup category.

Certified No.1 based on official records of the Truck Manufacturers Association of the Philippines (TMA), NISSAN FRONTIER has worn the best-selling badge since 2000.

Capping its 2003 with another record-breaking feat, the Frontier ended its race to the top with a 34.2% of the overall market share or a total of 2,100 units sold to customers.
Titanium, The Rebel Continues The Legacy
UMC’s Nissan Frontier continues to defy mediocrity by coming up with innovations that give premium to customers’ wants and needs for comfort, performance and durability.

Unveiled recently by the company was the newest variant of Frontier named as "Titanium".

This fine specimen was built to give clients the best of both worlds combining features of the 4X2 and 4X4 pickup models.

Its bold facade exudes masculinity to the last detail, sleek with its modern exterior and roughed up with all the tough amenities to boot.

The Titanium arrives first in offering a rain-sensor accessory that automatically activates the wiper at the slightest drop of rain; the rear-seat center armrest with cupholder is conveniently placed to tuck in your hot or cold beverages anytime; and the Titanium’s power-signal mirror is ingeniously added to aid the driver for those crucial sweeps and turns during driving.

This renegade-looking road machine is also fitted with a unique fashion bar with 3rd brake light; an up-to-date overfender; foglamps to light your way in those unpredictable weather situations; spray-on bedliner; chrome-finished alloy wheels and a side step tube embossed with the Frontier logo.

Inside the Titanium flaunts convenience and style for the driver and passengers. Think about seats made up of genuine leather; door trimmings and aluminum panels that add oomph to the interior; and stereo to heed your music commands.

The Frontier Titanium is available in Manual model, equipped with a TD27 Diesel engine and Automatic model, powered by a QD32 Diesel engine.
A Reliable Partner
Still continuously evolving, the all-mighty Frontier of Universal Motors Corporation has also become preferred tough partner of the country’s leading companies and organizations.

A roll call of its 2003 fleet accounts included the Philippine National Police (PNP) & the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH). Dole Philippines; Caltex Philippines; Petron Corporation; Bayer; and Universal Robina to name a few, are among its top corporate clients.

The country’s biggest media conglomerates — ABS-CBN, GMA-7, Philippine Daily Inquirer, The Philippine STAR, Business World, Today and Manila Bulletin also tap on the well-trusted Frontier in their pursuit of the biggest news stories, crucial to our nation’s history. Through the roughest terrains of the raging Pinatubo, or even in the political-turmoil at EDSA during People Power, the Frontier took the media to places and events they needed to witness.

Tried and tested by many generations, the Nissan Frontier is now an icon of strength and endurance in the local automotive industry.
