CR-V takes over lead in commercial vehicles

-
Honda Cars Philippines has announced the CR-V’s official take-over in the commercial vehicle segment, topping the sales charts in the first quarter of 2003 with a total of 3,967 units sold.

The CR-V has now become the bestselling vehicle in the country. With the CR-V selling 1,803 units in March, Honda was given a boost to achieve the highest monthly sales record of 2,002 units since December 1997. This, according to Honda, proves the quality and value the CR-V holds to customers.

In appreciation of the market’s overwhelming response, Honda introduces the 2003 CR-V that highlights comfort and leisure. Now available at all authorized Honda dealerships nationwide, the 2003 CR-V is now loaded with added interior features for extra convenience as well as safety.

The 2003 CR-V’s driver-side window is now operated with an automatic up and down switch plus it now offers the pinch-free feature. This feature avoids any obstruction when the window is rolling up. The window stops when it detects something caught between. Also, for added ease, a central door lock switch is now installed in the driver’s side.

For out-of-town trips, the CR-V is fitted with front beverage cup holder (A/T variant only) keeping the driver and front passenger refreshed during longer drives. All these new amenities combined with utility, comfort and space are expected to make motoring a more pleasurable experience.

The 2003 CR-V will still be powered by the new generation 2.0-liter DOHC i-VTEC (Intelligent Variable Valve Timing and Lift Electronic Control System) engine. This engine delivers powerful driving performance with outstanding fuel economy. The i-VTEC DOHC engine is compact, light and quiet.

With safety as one of Honda’s highest considerations, the company fitted the CR-V with the most advanced safety technologies and features. Based on real-world crash test at Honda R&D, the CR-V achieved the world’s highest level of crash safety performance. Fitted with standard four-wheel disk brakes integrated with ABS (anti-lock brake system), additional security is assured especially when forced to make sudden stops. An added Electronic Brake Force Distribution system provides a good balance for brake response. Also, seat belts with pre-tensioners and dual-SRS airbags are standard features..

For further enhanced security for the owner’s peace of mind, a new Wave key comes as standard equipment. The Wave key provides as an anti-theft device since it is highly difficult to copy or duplicate.

The 2003 CR-V is available in manual or automatic transmission and in three fun and sporty colors, namely, Monte Carlo Red, Satin Silver and Clover Green.

A limited Edition CR-V is also available in automatic transmission with the exclusive Night Hawk Black color.
