Yamaha bares Soul in Marilao

It was a weekend Bulakeños won’t easily forget as Yamaha Motor Philippines unleashed its latest edition of “Yamaha Evolution 2008” in SM City, Marilao, Bulacan.

The event is part of Yamaha’s exciting launch series for its latest model, the Yamaha Mio Soul. This latest installment follows the successful show at the SM Mall of Asia.

For its Marilao leg, Yamaha held an outdoor exhibit with the Mio Soul as the centerpiece. Visitors were later treated to a musical extravaganza featuring some of the country’s hottest acts such as Imago, the Kitty Girls and Pedicab.

The Yamaha Mio Soul is a take-off from the wildly popular Mio platform, which continues to rule the ASEAN market for automatic commuter motorbikes. It is a bold, brand-new segment that the company created five years ago.

The Mio Soul has the forced air-cooled four-stroke, SOHC, two-valve 115cc single-cylinder motor mated to a CVT transmission.

“We are proud of the Mio Soul because it is something that the younger generation has been looking forward to. You see, this is our way of granting their request to come up with a sportier, more lightweight, but no less effective means of transportation,” says Takeshi Yano, sales and marketing director of Yamaha Motor Philippines.

Indeed, the Mio Soul also uses the lighter asymmetrical pipe frame, the better to enjoy nimble rides, handling and outstanding convenience. Even the body design sports a more muscular and masculine look.

For Yamaha president Yoshiaki Takeda, this all means embracing the Mio Soul philosophy of leading a simpler, easier life. He states, “By doing so, you give yourself something to look forward to each day. Mio Soul wants to provide that excitement into your everyday life.”

He adds, “That also explains why the Yamaha Evolution features the hottest live acts. We know that music is a part of your life, the way Mio Soul envisions itself to be.”

The next Yamaha Evolution events unfold in SM City Cebu from March 6 to 12 with Bamboo as the main live act, and in SM City Davao from April 8 to 14.
