MANILA, Philippines — Over P496 million worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride hidden in industrial machinery has been seized at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport.

Customs agents intercepted 73 kilos of shabu in a pelletizing machine from Guadalajara, Mexico.

The shipment arrived on Sept. 26 and underwent inspection on Oct. 2.

“Smugglers may change their routes, methods and concealment techniques, but our resolve remains the same. We will find these illegal shipments, stop these at the border and work with our partner agencies to hold those responsible accountable,” Customs Commissioner Ariel Nepomuceno said.
