NCR economy expands by 4.4% in 2025

MANILA, Philippines — The National Capital Region’s (NCR) economy grew by 4.4 percent in 2025, driven mainly by the services sector, according to the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA).
Data from the PSA showed that the NCR grew at a slower pace last year compared to the 5.6 percent expansion in 2024.
This is in line with the 4.4 percent gross domestic product (GDP) growth at the national level last year, which was slower than the 5.7 percent growth in 2024.
The NCR’s economy was driven mainly by the services sector, which contributed 83.6 percent.
The services sector in Metro Manila grew by 5.1 percent last year, slower than the six percent growth in 2024.
Industry accounted for 16.4 percent of NCR’s GDP last year.
Growth of the NCR’s industry sector slowed to 0.7 percent in 2025 from 3.6 percent in 2024.
Meanwhile, the agriculture, forestry and fishing (AFF) sector contributed 0.01 percent to NCR’s economy.
The NCR’s AFF sector grew at a faster pace of 4.2 percent in 2025 compared to 0.8 percent in 2024.
NCR accounted for the largest share of the country’s total GDP last year at 31.2 percent.
This was followed by Calabarzon at 14.8 percent and Central Luzon at 11.1 percent.
These three regions had a combined share of 57.1 percent of the country’s total economy last year.
