Honda Cars names new president
Hidekazu Arai

MANILA, Philippines — Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) has named Hidekazu Arai as its new president who will lead the company’s push for sustainable mobility.

Arai’s appointment will take effect on April 1, 2026, HCPI said in a statement.

He succeeds Rie Miyake, who is set to assume a new post in Honda Motor Co. Ltd.

Arai brings nearly two decades of global leadership in his new role.

Previously, he served as Chief Administrator of the Business Planning Department at Honda’s global headquarters in Japan.

His work experience also includes significant tenure at the American Honda Motor Co. Inc. and the Saitama Factory.

Arai also has a strong background in finance and the electrification strategy, making him uniquely positioned to lead HCPI to a new chapter.

Under his leadership, HCPI will advance sustainable mobility.

The company also aims to strengthen Honda’s presence in the Philippine market by offering superior product value and enhancing customer service.

Last year, HCPI’s sales rose by 4.8 percent to 16,257 units from 15,518 units in 2024.

As of end-February, HCPI’s sales declined by 5.8 percent to 2,480 units from 2,634 units in the same period last year.
