MANILA, Philippines — Ayala-led ACEN Corp. has teamed up with property developer Innoland Development Corp. to power Aeon Center, a 19-story office tower in Muntinlupa, entirely with renewable energy.

ACEN, through ACEN RES, will provide the power requirements of Aeon Center, making it the third building of Innoland in Metro Manila to switch to clean energy.

This initiative, according to Innoland VP for Manila operations Neil Anthony Ong, is aligned with the real estate company’s goal of creating “sustainable and environmentally responsible working spaces.”

“We are proud to offer our tenants a healthy, sustainable work environment and hope this encourages other businesses to make the switch to renewable energy,” Ong said.

Located within Filinvest City in Alabang, Aeon Center features 12 floors of leasable office spaces, alongside basement parking levels and retail spaces.

“Switching to renewable energy is a major step toward a cleaner, more sustainable future, and we commend Innoland for their leadership in this effort,” said Sheila Mina, VP for commercial operations at ACEN RES, the retail electricity arm of the ACEN Group.

Further, ACEN recognized Innoland’s sustainability efforts through a ceremonial unveiling of the “Powered by Renewable Energy” badge at Aeon Center.

The gold badge is a proprietary seal awarded to companies and organizations that have switched to 100 percent clean power through ACEN RES.

With roots in Cebu, Innoland is engaged in the development of commercial, industrial and residential properties and is listed with the Philippine Economic Zone Authority as an ecozone facilities enterprise.

ACEN, on the other hand, is the listed energy platform of the Ayala Group that has a global generation portfolio of 6.8 gigawatts spanning operational, under-construction and committed projects.
