First Metro names new president

MANILA, Philippines — First Metro Investment Corp., the investment banking arm of the Metrobank Group, has announced the appointment of Jose Patricio Dumlao as its new president and director.

Dumlao is a highly experienced and successful investment and commercial banker. Prior to joining First Metro in January this year as executive vice president, he was the country manager of BNP Paribas Manila Offshore Branch.

He also served as president and head of fixed income and equity sales of BNP Paribas Investment Philippines Inc.; president and head of investment banking, Paribas Asia Equity Philippines Inc.; chief operating officer and head of equity sales, Philippines Asia Equity Securities Inc.; and head of institutional sales for the Philippines, Asia Equity UK Ltd.

Earlier in his career, he worked as an investment banking officer at ANSCOR Capital and Investment Corp. and later on became head of investment banking at Corporate Investment Philippines Inc.

Dumlao holds a BS management engineering degree from the Ateneo de Manila University.
