Volkswagen opens first Mindanao dealership in CDO

MANILA, Philippines — Volkswagen Philippines has expanded its reach in Mindanao by opening a new dealership in Cagayan de Oro (CDO).

In a statement, Volkswagen Philippines said it inaugurated the CDO dealership in partnership with Greencars Mindanao Corp., a firm engaged in the sale of new and used vehicles, parts, tires, batteries and accessories, preventive maintenance service and body and paint works.

Located along Pueblo Business Park, the dealership is Volkswagen Philippines’ first in Mindanao to cater to customers not just in CDO, but also in Northern Mindanao including Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon and Lanao del Norte.

“Establishing our ninth Volkswagen dealer in the country, at the center of the logistics and business hub of Northern Mindanao, was a very easy decision to make.

In collaboration with GMC (Greencars Mindanao Corp.), we are now exactly where we want to be in the region. The residents and enterprises of northern Mindanao will now have more access to the German technology, build quality, and driving experience of Volkswagen automobiles and the accompanying Volkswagen aftersales services and support,” Volkswagen Philippines president Felipe Estrella said.

GMC chairman Antonio de la Fuente said the opening of the dealership marks Volkswagen’s return to CDO after an absence of 40 years.

“With Volkswagen CDO back in full swing, our entire product lineup and dealership services are so much more accessible,” Estrella said.

Opening dealerships forms part of Volkswagen Philippines’ aim to achieve higher sales.

Last year, Volkswagen Philippines sold 1,363 vehicles.

Volkswagen Philippines operates as part of the Ayala Group’s automotive portfolio.

Among the vehicle models in Volkswagen Philippines’ lineup are Santana, Santana GTS, Lavida, Lamando and Tiguan.

Apart from CDO, Volkswagen Philippines dealerships are located in Bonifacio Global City, Quezon City, Pampanga, Alabang, Laguna, Cebu, Iloilo and Bacolod.
