Megaworld, Geri to develop new township in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — Megaworld, the Andrew Tan-led developer and its subsidiary Global-Estate Resorts Inc. (GERI) are jointly developing a new township in Cavite with an investment of P18 billion in the next 15 years.

Megaworld chief strategy officer Kevin Tan said the estate would be the first of its kind.

“Arden Botanical Estate is a one-of-a-kind township development, which will be curated to engage and stimulate the senses. We will put design and aesthetics at the forefront, and function and purpose at the backbone of its planning,” Tan said.

With a size of 251 hectares, Arden Botanical Estates will have several residential and leisure villages, commercial areas, sports and adventure parks and a mixed-use district.

The property is located at the boundary of Trece Martires City and the municipality of Tanza in Cavite.

More than half of the Arden Botanical Estate will comprise of residential and leisure villages. Other components include a mixed-use commercial district, sports and adventure parks and a school.

There will also be a variety of gardens and natural parks around the development.

Furthermore, Tan said the estate would have its own flower farm, flower tunnel, and children’s garden, allowing residents and visitors to commune with nature and enjoy the bounty and beauty of Philippine flora.

The entrance will be along Governor’s Drive in Tanza, Cavite. From the entrance, there will be a six-lane avenue that leads to the Welcome Pavilion and the Town Center, which will be surrounded by arcaded and alfresco commercial areas.

Tan said the estate would include other sustainability features such as the use of solar street lights, electric shuttles for transport, storm water recycling, permeable pavements for driveways and parking and organic fertilizers and pesticides for the gardens.

Arden Botanical Estate is Megaworld’s 25th township development, and GERI’s seventh lifestyle and tourism development.

The latest township is consistent with the Andrew Tan Group’s vision to bring development outside Metro Manila and at the same time enable Filipinos to experience a new and modern lifestyle that puts together their place of work and residence.

“Our concept for this expansive development is to allow everyone living, working and even visiting the township to appreciate a beautiful and purposeful life. This is another unique township concept that will certainly stand out from any other developments in and around Cavite,“ Tan said.
