SM opens new mall in Cavite

MANILA, Philippines — SM Prime Holdings Inc. is expanding its presence in Cavite with a new mall that will add 13,000 square meters of gross floor area (GFA) to the company’s eight million-square meter GFA portfolio nationwide.

In a disclosure to the local bourse yesterday, SM Prime said it is set to open SM Center Imus, its sixth mall in Cavite, tomorrow.

The new mall is part of the company’s commitment to serve as a catalyst for economic growth through the delivery of innovative and sustainable lifestyle cities that enrich the quality of life of millions of Filipinos.

“The opening of SM Center Imus marks another milestone for SM Prime. This mall is located right at the heart of Imus City to provide more convenience to the residents as well as guests of this historic city,” SM Prime president Jeffrey Lim said in a statement.

SM Prime said SM Center Imus would open with 90 percent of space lease-awarded and would include the company’s well-loved brands like SM Supermarket, SM Appliance Center, ACE Hardware, Miniso, Watsons, and BDO.

SM Center Imus, which is located along N.I.A Road in Imus, Cavite, will boost the presence of SM brand in Cavite along with the five existing SM malls in the province namely SM City Bacoor, SM City Dasmariñas, SM City Molino, SM City Rosario, and SM City Trece Martires.

“It will have unique features such as the indoor town plaza, a perfect venue for concert and sporting events, 24/7 tenants such as full-service clinic, pharmacy and wellness spa that are open to serve mall-goers any time of the day, seven days a week, and the small-medium enterprises popular local concept, where top favorite local brands will be made available for everyone’s enjoyment and satisfaction,” SM Prime said.

The company closed 2017 with a total of 67 malls nationwide with a total GFA of 8.03 million square meters.
