Amadeus, Etihad Airways renew partnership

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Amadeus, a leading provider of advanced technology solutions for the global travel industry, recently renewed its full content agreement with Etihad Airways, ensuring travelers will continue to have access to the airline’s full inventory of flights, seats and other services.

Under the agreement, Amadeus’ expanded rich content capabilities will allow Etihad Airways to display images of its product and ancillary services, including exit row seating for travelers, on offer when booking through travel agencies.

Amadeus vice president of distribution marketing Decius Valmorbida said providing Etihad Airways with access to its solutions would allow the airline to provide premium service to its travelers.

“Today’s travelers are looking for consistency, transparency and choice. Through this partnership, Etihad Airways is extending its world class guest experience to travelers worldwide by providing them comprehensive access to its product offering anytime, anywhere, anyhow,” Valmorbida said.

He added, “Amadeus rich content enhanced capabilities bring airline differentiation and branding to a new level. Through our dynamic ancillary services catalogue, Etihad Airways is now able to convey the uniqueness of its ancillary services offering to travelers and travel agencies across the world’s largest travel network.”

For his part, Etihad Airways chief commercial officer Peter Baumgartner said the guest experience is at the core of everything they do.

“Rich content showcases our innovative spirit and careful attention to detail. We know that travel agencies will notice the difference and will be able to sell our award winning product with confidence if they are able to look before they book,” he said.

According to Baumgartner, the enhancement adds an additional layer in their long-standing partnership with Amadeus and enables them to reach corporate and leisure travelers worldwide with additional information, services, and benefits.

“We pride ourselves in providing the highest quality experience to our guests, and that includes allowing them to book their flight through any means of their choice and have greater transparency and access to our full inventory,” Baumgartner said.

Currently, over 124 of the world’s leading airlines use the Amadeus e-Commerce Airline Suite in more than 110 markets worldwide.

Amadeus started its Philippine operations in 1997.
