Honda sales surge 44% in 10 months

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – Honda Cars Philippines Inc. (HCPI) sold 16,046 units in the 10 months to October this year, up 44 percent compared to the same period last year on the back of strong market demand for its City, All-New Mobilio and HR-V models.

For October alone, HCPI said it sold 1,786 units, 16 percent higher from the same month in 2014.

The City remains the company’s best-selling nameplate among its 13 vehicle models, cornering 46 percent of HCPI’s year-to-date sales on an 11 percent year-on-year growth.

HCPI said it aims to further increase its City sales with the introduction of another variant, the New City 1.5 E CVT Special Edition, early this month.

The firm’s next best-seller is the All-New Mobilio, its first seven-seater multi-purpose utility vehicle, which contributed 14 percent to HCPI’s sales despite only being in the market for six months.

With the successful vehicle introduction and positive market response, HCPI said it has increased the All-New Mobilio supply.

“We are pleased to inform our customers that we have already stabilized our stock situation. The All-New Mobilio vehicles are now readily available at any Honda dealership nationwide”, HCPI president and general manager Toshio Kuwahara said.

The company said another contributor to Honda’s growth this year is the All-New HR-V which has already sold 807 units since its debut in June.

“Our new models have significantly given boost to our monthly sales. The market’s response towards our new product line-up is truly encouraging. It inspires us to keep focused on improving our competitiveness in the market through our product line-up and services,” Kuwahara said.
