Finance reporting seminar set on June 19

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - How to make sense of financial reports is the typical challenge faced by decision-makers.  While many can read financial statements, only a few can correctly interpret and analyze the numbers to make the right decisions in board and management meetings.

To help understand financial statements,  the Center for Global Best Practices (www.cgbp.org) will hold a seminar entitled “How to Really Read Financial Statements for Board Directors & Decision-Makers,” on Thursday and Friday, June 19 and 20 at the EDSA Shangri-la Manila, Mandaluyong City.

This easy-to-understand program is designed for non-finance decision-makers who make use of financial statements.

The seminar will help business owners, board directors and management make sense of the annual reports, income statement, balance sheet and statement of cashflows. Participants will learn how to spot critical issues and ask smart questions that business owners and management need to know-find out what is right, what is wrong, and what is fishy in the financial reports.

Seminar participants will become more effective in their decisions if they understand the numbers and the meaning behind those numbers.  Most importantly, improving  financial literacy will ensure participants they are being dealt with fairly and squarely by accountants and finance professionals – ensuring that they are not being taken for a ride.

For more details and pioneering seminars, please check www.cgbp.org or call (02) 556-8968/ 69 in Manila; Cebu lines (032) 512-3106/ 07 or Baguio at (074) 4235148.
