BDO is Phl's Bank of the Year
MANILA, Philippines - Listed BDO Unibank, Inc., the largest bank in the country, has been named the Bank of the Year in the Philippines 2013 by international banking and finance publication The Banker.
Citing the bank's "strong management, sound business model and prudent risk approach," The Banker handed to BDO the award at the Bank of the Year Awards held in London. The annual awards recognize the best among the global banking sector.
As of September this year, the universal bank is considered the largest bank in the Philippines in terms of total assets, loans, deposits, capital and trust funds under management. BDO provides corporate, commercial and retail banking service.
The bank earlier won the Best Asian Bank award from FinanceAsia last September, and is the first Philippine bank to receive such award.
