Hyder Consulting recruiting eng’rs from Phl

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Skilled engineers in the Philippines are being targeted by multi-national design and engineering consultancy, Hyder Consulting, in a major recruitment drive for both graduates and experienced engineers to join its Global Excellence Centre in Manila. The Global Excellence Centre has been operating for over ten years and currently employs around 300 people.

The latest drive follows a recent intake of engineering graduates from the country’s top universities who are embarking on an intensive workplace training program with Hyder and will potentially work on iconic global projects, including the building of the Doha Expressway and Al Ain Zoo, from the company’s Manila base.

The graduate training program is being run out of Hyder’s new training center in Manila comprising technical and business skills. In a concentrated training program, graduates will learn Hyder systems and technical software training and will have the opportunity to apply these skills on real live projects as part of their training. Those who complete the training will have the opportunity to apply for roles within Hyder.

Hyder Consulting, which specialises in the transport, utilities, resources and environment, property and energy sectors, aims to recruit passionate skilled engineering graduates and also experienced experts in order to build an even stronger Manila-based workforce for the company’s many high profile infrastructure projects.

Hyder Consulting’s David Burgess, Global Excellence Centre and Shared Services Director in Manila, says: “The Philippines has an excellent reputation for developing highly skilled engineers and construction specialists. We have grown our presence in the country significantly over the last decade and are looking continue to strengthen our position, by providing the brightest engineering professionals opportunities to build up their workplace experience.

“With a base at our headquarters in the Philippines, successful candidates have the chance to work on an exciting range of iconic international projects, such as the Doha Expressway and Orbital Track Routes, from concept through to construction. And since our Manila center is a fully functioning design office and not just a production center, recruits really will receive the most sophisticated and in-depth training possible, working as a key part of an international team with colleagues from offices around the world.”
