Nurses’ role in minimally invasive surgery

MANILA, Philippines -  The Department of Surgery of the Asian Hospital and Medical Center will hold a seminar-workshop on the role of nurses in minimally invasive surgery(MIS) starting today, May 10, at the Conference Facility Unit.

The “Laparoscopy 101” seminar-workshop, to be done in collaboration with Patient Care Services, will introduce participants to laparoscopic surgery and patient safety, equipment and instrumentation, among others, with lectures by renowned doctors and nurses.

Open to nurses, OR technicians and allied health practitioners, the two-day course will offer a comprehensive discussion on MIS, including video presentations, lectures, panel discussions and hands-on practical exposure. Participants will also be given credit for CPE units.

 Limited slots are available on a first-come, first served basis upon full payment of the P1,500 registration fee. A separate registration fee of P500 will be charged for those who will attend the hands-on workshop on the last day.
