PAL boosts Kalibo, Bohol flights

-
Philippine Airlines is increasing available capacity on flights to two key domestic points to accommodate the expected swarm of travelers as the busy summer travel season gets underway.

Starting this Holy Week through May, PAL will expand seat offerings by up to 75 percent (on certain dates) on its services to Kalibo and Tagbilaran, two of the most popular tourist destinations in the country.

Kalibo, gateway to the resort island of Boracay, will see frequencies rise from the current three to four times daily on April 19, 20, 21, 25 and 27, and on May 1 and 4.

On top of these, special flights will be added on the peak weekends of April 17 (Holy Thursday) and 20.

The Tagbilaran service, normally operated four times a week, was expanded to daily frequency last April 12 until May 31, boosting capacity on the only jet air link to the Bohol capital by 444 seats weekly for the duration of the summer season.

Overall, PAL will be offering in excess of 4,100 seats per week to Kalibo and Tagbilaran this summer. The flag carrier deploys 148-seater Boeing 737-300 aircraft on the two routes.

Meanwhile, PAL is advising passengers to check in as early as three hours before their scheduled domestic flight time to account for the stringent security checks at the NAIA Centennial Terminal 2 that has caused massive congestion at the departure level.

PAL’s check-in counters are open to serve passengers starting as early as 2 a.m. for domestic flights and 4 a.m. for international flights, daily.
