CEBU, Philippines — Pahatagon og report sa konseho sa Siyudad sa Sugbo ang tanang pribado ug pampublikong tambalanan sa ilang paglabay sa hospital wastes aron masiguro kon naglabay sila sa saktong pamaaagi.

Gi-aprubahan sa konseho ang resolusyon ni Konsehal Joel Garganera nga nag-ingon nga tanang medical wastes sa ospital nga angay ilabay sa saktong lugar aron dili kini makaguba sa kalikupan ug mohatag og delikado sa panglawas sa mga residente sa dakbayan.

“To request all private and public hospitals, operating within the jurisdiction of the City of Cebu, to submit a report on the process and status of their hospital and medical waste disposal which include, but is not limited to, daily tonnage of hospital and medical waste disposal, third-party service provider, and final disposal site of wastes,” matud sa maong resolusyon.

Gi-request sab sa konseho ang Department of Environment and Natural Resources-7 - Environmental Management Bureau nga mohatag og inventory sa tanang existing hospitals ug medical waste facilities ug mga service providers sa Metro Cebu.

Kahinumduman nga nakigkita si Garganera sa 30 ka mga representante sa mga hospital sa Metro Cebu sa miaging semana. Gani, didto nahibaw-an nga adunay 200 ka mga barrels ang wala pa malabay ug adunay sulod nga hospital waste.

Niadtong Enero 5, nadiskubrehan ang mga medical wastes nga naglutaw sa kadagatan sa Dakbayan sa Lapu-Lapu. Gipamulta na sa EMB-7 ang giingong mga responsable sa paglabay sa maong mga hazardous nga medical waste.

“The improper hospital waste disposal and treatment may also be present in the City of Cebu such as, but not limited to, disposal of hospital wastes surrounding bodies of water, indiscriminate disposal in open spaces, and improper handling of hospital waste, which causes health risks and hazards to the residents of the City of Cebu,” dugang niya.
