Lady Blazers chalk up win No. 5
MANILA, Philippines — College of St. Benilde repulsed Letran, 25-18, 25-21, 25-19, yesterday to remain unshakeable at the helm in NCAA Season 99 women’s volleyball at the Filoil EcoOil Arena.
Gayle Pascual uncorked 12 points including 11 bazooka kills while Wielyn Estoque sprayed 11 hits as the Lady Blazers seized the solo lead with a pristine 5-0 record while extending its mighty streak to 34 straight spanning four years.
It was an imposing triumph for the three-peat-seeking champion as it slew one of the teams it expects to challenge them for the crown.
“Isa ang Letran sa binabantayan namin,” said CSB coach Jerry Yee.
Earlier, Arellano U outlasted San Sebastian, 25-17, 26-28, 22-25, 25-23, 15-12, to boost its Final Four stock with a 3-2 mark.
