Puka Beach Pavilion to rise in Boracay

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The newest events and relaxation facility to rise on Boracay Island, Puka Beach Pavilion, resonates with all the pleasures of living the Alta Vista de Boracay way: stunning view of the sea and sunset, exclusive access to premier sites in the island, and comfort and privacy that evoke the atmosphere of a resort hotel.

The groundbreaking rites for Puka Beach Pavilion was graced by Abby Yap, wife of Malay Mayor John Yap, and executives of Boracay Ecovillage Resort and Convention Center and Alta Vista De Boracay Hotel and Leisure Residences who shared with guests their world-class vision for the facility.

The single-story structure to be built within a 2,402-square-meter property is for the privileged unit owners and guests of Alta Vista de Boracay.

DMCI Homes, developer of the condominium community on the island, will have as its joint venture partner Boracay Property Holdings Inc. (BPHI), which provided the land to be developed as a pavilion facility by DMCI Homes.

BPHI president Angel de Leon narrated how his friendship with the owners of DMCI Homes has now expanded into a partnership that will soon offer vacationers a restful and inviting beachside haven.

Puka Beach in Boracay is like a gem waiting to be discovered. According to De Leon, it is quieter there since tourist traffic is more controlled, and the waters are pristine.

“Instead of buildings, instead of a resort, you can see the trees and the mountain as backdrop. It is a place where you can really commune with nature,” he said, pointing out that the partners’ vision is to encourage people to enjoy the natural environment while protecting the ecosystem.

The pavilion will be designed like a sprawling summer house, its style consistent with the Southeast Asian architecture of the main residential development in Alta Vista de Boracay, which is just a breezy stroll away. Residents and vacationers can expect a classy tropical getaway: there are cabanas and a barbecue pit for hosting outdoor receptions, while indoor facilities include a dining area, open bar, kitchen, pantry and office, and indoor shower, toilet, locker room and storage.

Alta Vista de Boracay general manager Bob Laygo said people might have other beaches in mind as the best in the world but the soon-to-rise pavilion facility on Puka Beach may just change that.

“I was asked, ‘What do you envision for Puka Beach in the future?’ I said the property will be called THE place to be in Boracay. The place for weddings and team building, where people would like to wind down in the early evening with a nice sip of martini or vodka, or view the beautiful sunset as they enjoy a sumptuous meal,” Laygo said.

While preserving the world-renowned beauty of the island, the promise of Puka Beach Pavilion is to offer international tourists and local visitors new delights, enabling them to experience and appreciate Boracay Island with renewed passion.

Alta Vista De Boracay was developed by DMCI Homes, and is managed and operated by DMCI PDI Hotels Inc.  For hotel reservations, call (632) 403-2672 (BORA) or check out www.altavistadeboracay.com.ph or www.dmcihomes.com.
