New mobile intelligent terminals from Samsung

-
Samsung Electronics, a global leader in mobile design and technology, introduced a variety of mobile intelligent terminals (MITs) that feature the power of a laptop in a mobile phone, at CommunicAsia, Asia’s largest communications and IT trade event held recently in Singapore.

These handsets allow users to take their most important data with them on the road. Possessing more computing power than laptops had a decade ago, and with the latest integrated high-speed wireless communication technology, these devices are not limited to e-mailing or office document editing. They are also capable of playing multimedia content such as digital music or video clips.

Understanding that consumers have different needs, Samsung Electronics is offering a variety of options to choose from. Samsung is the only major handset manufacturer to offer handsets based on Palm, Smartphone, PocketPC and Symbian operating systems.

SGH-i700, a mobile intelligent terminal built around the Pocket PC Phone Edition operating system from Microsoft, includes Pocket Office for business needs, Windows Media Player for multimedia file playback and MSN Messenger for text messaging.

With its advanced Wireless LAN supports (801.11b), users can easily access the Internet. In addition, the device includes a built-in VGA camera with a rotating lens, enabling consumers to take pictures or record video and share images with friends or colleagues.

The SGH-i530 is a camera phone with Palm OS 5.2, enabling users to continuously connect to the Internet. It gives consumers the power to organize, connect and view HTML websites in full, brilliant color.

The SGH-i530 is perfect for both business professionals and consumers who require a variety of applications to stay productive, informed and entertained.

With a compact clamshell design, the handset boasts a 65,536 color-capable UFS LCD screen (324 x 352), and 64 polyphonic sounds.

Built-in communication applications, as well as various WAP 2.0 Web browsers for e-mailing clients, also allow the phone to serve as a fully portable, all-in-one wireless Web terminal.

With an embedded megapixel camera with flash light, users can take pictures, record video images and share files through a wireless network or via the Internet.

The SGH-D710 is a slide-up mobile phone based on Symbian operating systems with built-in, megapixel camera. It supports the GSM/GPRS network with full multimedia features, including video messaging, movie clip playback and camcorder functionality.

In addition, the embedded megapixel camera supports high-resolution images that make a big impression – giving consumers the ability to capture those special moments, without having to lug around an extra device.

Further, to allow best use of SGH-D710’s extensive multimedia features, the designers at Samsung added support for MMC (multimedia card) memory expansion and media sound player, including 64 polyphonic ringtones.

The crystal clear 65,536-color TFT LCD screen ensures the best viewing experience. Java application is also available.
