UAAP Finals Game 2: Clincher or decider?

MANILA, Philippines — The Archers drew first blood.

What was expected as a blowout win for La Salle turned out to be a nail biter with the Green Archer's hacking a 67-65 Game One win Saturday at the Mall of Asia Arena.

The Blue Eagles stormed back from a 15-point deficit, but graduating La Salle captain Jeron Teng prevented the upset with a bucket and a defensive stop.

Season MVP Ben Mbala led the Archers with 20 points and 15 boards while Teng added 10 to help the Taft-based squad move a win closer from the title.

Aaron Black, meanwhile, top-scored for Ateneo with 12 points.

Game Two is slated at 3 p.m. today at the Smart Araneta Coliseum.

Will the Green Archers finally take the crown back to Taft, or will Ateneo make one big stand to extend their Cinderella run and the series to a winner-take-all Game Three?
