Warriors' Curry to miss next game vs Rockets

Philstar.com
MANILA, Philippines – Golden State's Stephen Curry will be missing Game 2 of the Warriors' playoff series against the Houston Rockets, a report said Tuesday morning.

The story, first broken by the New York Times, indicated that Curry did not practice Monday (Tuesday in Manila). The decision to sit out Game 2 came before a warm-up.

Curry, the Warriors' point guard and reigning NBA Most Valuable Player, tweaked his ankle during the first half of their first game with the Rockets. Golden State, though, managed to hold the fort, even after their main man sat out the remainder of the game.

This is not the first time the current record holder of 402 made three-pointers hurt his ankles. Curry underwent surgeries to address injuries in the same areas in 2011 and 2012. Three years after the last operation, his Warriors went on to win the NBA championship at the expense of LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The Warriors, who capped an illustrious season with a new league record of 73 wins, are now one game ahead of the Rockets. They face off again today.
