Microtel Philippines honored at Wyndham APAC Summit

MANILA, Philippines - Microtel Inns & Suites (Pilipinas) Inc., the master franchise holder of Microtel by Wyndham in the Philippines, was given the Wyndham Award of Excellence at the recently concluded 2014 Wyndham Hotel Group Asia Pacific Summit in Beijing, China. The company was recognized for its key role in expanding the Wyndham Hotel Group’s brands in the Asia Pacific region. Held at the Beijing Conference Center, the summit was a gathering of owners, franchisees, managers, and Wyndham Hotel Group officers from across the region.

During the Gala Award Dinner, three (3) Microtel by Wyndham properties also received recognition for their active participation in Wyndham activities, effective implementation of brand standards and use of Wyndham tools/resources, and good guest satisfaction ratings.  Awarded “The Most Engaged Teams” were Microtel by Wyndham Mall of Asia - Front Office; Microtel by Wyndham Cabanatuan - Sales and Marketing; and Microtel by Wyndham Baguio - Housekeeping.

Notably, Roy B. Martin, Area General Manager for North Luzon, was awarded General Manager of the Year for the Microtel by Wyndham brand. Roy was recognized for his significant contribution to the improved overall business performance of the three (3) hotels under his leadership (Baguio, Tarlac, and Cabanatuan) and for his noteworthy efforts in making Microtel Baguio a three-time consecutive Tripadvisor.com Certificate of Excellence awardee (2012-2014).

Microtel by Wyndham Acropolis, Quezon City was named New Hotel of the Year. Located along C5 Road across Eastwood City, Libis, Quezon City, this 84-room hotel is in a prime location right next to a variety of restaurants, cafés, bars, retail shops, a mall, entertainment and leisure facilities, and a multitude of business establishments such as BPOs, banking institutions, and industrial firms.  With its strategic location and good customer service, the hotel definitely made a positive impact and successfully addressed the needs of the business and leisure travelers and small meetings market in the area.
