Making cars is an art. But to go beyond making cars and venture into nurturing talents brings the mission of an automobile company to a higher plane. This is what Subaru has done.

Beginning this November, Subaru presents “Michael Bolton in the Asian Dream Tour.” Celebrating the legacy of pop culture icon Michael Bolton, the Asian Dream Tour is a series of five exclusive concerts in five countries across the Asian region.

The first concert was held last November 3 at Marriott Grand Ballroom in Manila.  With a display of Subaru’s new Forester 2.0 XT at Marriott’s lobby, the venue was packed with fans of both Subaru cars and legendary singer Michael Bolton. The concert was extra meaningful for Filipino fans because of performances by two talented Filipinos—Bolt of Talent winner Lance Busa (a 22-year-old who hails from Butuan City) and Morisette Amon (who recently performed at the Asia Song Festival in South Korea).  Guest performers included Bolt of Talent co-host Sandra Riley Tang.

So what brought about this partnership between Subaru and Michael Bolton?

Subaru believes that Bolton’s legacy and sustained success in the music industry makes him a natural choice for this partnership.

“Michael Bolton’s music has inspired generations over the world… We have always been a huge supporter of nurturing young talent, most recently with Bolt of Talent, and we believe that the Asian Dream Tour will be an extraordinary platform to showcase young individuals in pursuit of their dreams,” said Glenn Tan, Managing Director, Tan Chong International Ltd.

For Michael Bolton, the experience has been enriching as well. He said: “Subaru has brought me back to Asia to discover so much musical talent. I’m incredibly excited to have them join me on the Asian Dream Tour stage. The show will be a spectacular showcase of new young singers.”

The Asian Dream Tour went to Taipei, Taiwan and Bangkok, Thailand last November 8 and November 11, respectively. It will then move on to Singapore on November 15 and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on November 18.

Michael Bolton’s Hercules theme song “Go The Distance” applies to Subaru as it continues to venture into promoting new talents. Subaru shows its committment to support and nurture a diverse range of young talent in the Asian region through TV programs such as Asia’s Next Top Model and Cesar’s Recruit: Asia. With Bolt of Talent, Subaru hopes to inspire the next generation of aspiring artists across Asia to follow their dreams and fulfil their potential.
