Talisay gov't offices close starting this pm

CEBU, Philippines -  Offices at the Talisay City Hall will be open only in the morning today in consideration for those who have to go home in their respective provinces this Holy Week.

Mayor Johnny De los Reyes said the declaration of the half-day work schedule is to give time to employees to prepare for the observance of Lent.

This means regular work will be back on Monday.

In line with this, De los Reyes also called on the police to ensure peace and order in all public places.

He also ordered intensified police visibility in churches and other public convergence areas this Holy Week.

"Make sure that Talisay City will be safe. I'm calling on the police to be extra vigilant these days and make sure that everyone will be safe," the mayor said. (FREEMAN)
