Ramos, Binay political operator appointed in EDSA commission

MANILA, Philippines — Self-proclaimed civic leader and political operator Pastor "Boy" Saycon will be a part of the four-member EDSA People Power Commission under the Office of the President.
President Rodrigo Duterte recently appointed Saycon and Christopher Carrion as members of the commission in charge of the activities commemorating the EDSA People Power Revolution.
Saycon made the headlines in 2016 after bringing whistleblowers who claimed that around 200,000 votes were deducted from the votes of defeated vice presidential candidate Bongbong Marcos. The witnesses also claimed that over 300,000 votes were added to Vice President Leni Robredo.
The votes were rigged using a Smartmatic machine in Quezon province, according to Saycon's witnesses. The so-called whistleblowers, however, failed to produce evidence of their claims.
Robredo is not the only member of the Liberal Party that Saycon went after.
"Mar Roxas may not know it and if he did chances are he will not admit it — but he became the casualty of having Boy Saycon working against him in the May 10 elections," the late STAR columnist Billy Esposo wrote in 2010.
In March 2017, Saycon turned over documents before the Department of Justice supposedly proving anomalies of the Aquino administration.

Saycon is known for engineering the 1992 presidential campaign of former President Fidel Ramos. He was also instrumental in the victory of former Vice President Jejomar Binay in the 2010 national elections.
"It was Boy Saycon’s effective political operation that allowed VP candidate Jojo Binay to get Villar-Binay and Gibo-Binay votes in the provinces where these two presidential candidates were strong," Esposo said.
In the column, Esposo said that Saycon's political operation of the Council of Philippine Affairs that led to the filing of a case on the overpricing of the President Diosdado Macapagal Boulevard.
The former chairman of the Public Estates Authority filed a libel case against Saycon in 2008 in connection to the Macapagal Boulevard but was later on acquitted due to the prosecution's failure to establish guilt beyond reasonable doubt.
