Beans Gonzalez & Nicole Jacinto: Two workaholics take a break — for their wedding

PERSONAL CHOICE - Frannie Jacinto - The Philippine Star

Being set up by close friends who know your likes and dislikes is a great way to meet the man of your dreams. That’s what happened when Nicole Onrubia Jacinto met Augusto Angel “Beans” Santos Gonzalez  five years ago. They were introduced by mutual friends who happened to be sisters-in-law, Rossana O. Rodriguez and Roselen Ocampo, and knew that Nicole and Beans (as he is fondly called by his family and close friends) would hit it off even if he was 15 years her senior.

While visiting a serene temple in Kyoto on a balmy June day a year ago, Beans romantically proposed to his unsuspecting love.

Two weeks ago, the wedding celebration started with an afternoon ceremony at the quaint St. John Bosco Parish in Sta. Rosa City, officiated by Fr. Dennis Paez, who has been the couple’s spiritual advisor for several years now.

Proceeding to Tagaytay for the reception at Tony Boy Escalante’s newest outlet, Balay Dako (Big House), we were greeted by a panoramic view of picturesque Taal Volcano and the surrounding lake, which just took our breath away.  As the elegant dinner ended, an after-party was held at the rooftop deck for the younger set (and the young-at-heart) to further enjoy the romantic evening with the newlyweds.

For the workaholic Nicole, managing director at Bridges Public Relations, and Beans, vice president of an investment and finance company, the honeymoon will have to wait a while since both are still busy with business commitments.
