7-Eleven celebrates ‘Dinagyang’ with opening of first store in Iloilo

The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - World-renowned convenience store chain brand 7-Eleven, through its exclusive licensor Philippine Seven Corp. (PSC), recently opened its flagship store in Iloilo, which coincided with the “Sponsors Mardi Gras Parade” of the just concluded Dinagyang Festival.

In time for the celebration of this year’s theme, “Bringing More Fun to the World,” the 7-Eleven and PSC delegates watched the parade of floats, which showcased both the diversity and unity of the local community. The PSC representatives — composed of the operations team led by area manager Ramon Almira who facilitated the event, and the franchise team headed by regional manager for Viz-Min Gil Abad — were joined by its first Iloilo franchisees Rosymar Camposagrado & Partner and Britesmile Food Corp. headed by Dr. Elena Semolava, together with their families during the opening of the first 7-Eleven company-owned store located on General Luna Street. The second outlet, which is the first franchise store in Iloilo, is set to open within the month in La Fiesta, along MH Del Pilar Street.

PSC and the whole 7-Eleven crew also gave Iloilo revelers a taste of modern shopping convenience by positioning mobile booths that had the store’s prime commodities within easy reach.

“The Sponsors Mardi Gras was held before Dinagyang’s Ati Contest, where sponsors joined the street parade from the Freedom Grandstand,” said Krystine Louise Yap, one of PSC’s franchise specialists. “The route passes through our store, so it was perfect because many were able to get a glimpse of our first 7-Eleven outlet in Iloilo.”

In the coming years, 7-Eleven, according to Abad, is hoping to become an active participant and a top market player in the location, adding that the opening of the flagship store in Iloilo is just the beginning of more enduring partnerships among the locals.

“We are very happy to join the residents and the thousands of visitors from all over for this cherished event, which brought diverse communities together,” Abad said. “We sense their personal commitment to preserve this cultural legacy, so hopefully, we will be joining in unity for next year’s celebration, either as participant or share in as supporter or sponsor.”

Apart from efficient convenience store servicing, 7-Eleven also modernized the country’s retail and economic landscape with its high-quality proprietary products and provision of employment opportunities for locals.

Now with more than 1,000 stores nationwide, 7-Eleven remains the country’s undisputed convenience store chain. For franchise inquiries, call 726-9968, 0920-950-8651, 0917-871-1686, email franchising@7-eleven.com.ph or visit www.7-eleven.com.ph.
