DoubleDragon to open Mindanao’s biggest hotel

MANILA, Philippines — DoubleDragon Corp., the listed company chaired by tycoons Edgar “Injap” Sia II and Tony Tan Caktiong, is opening the largest hotel in Mindanao next month.

DoubleDragon said the 519-room Hotel101-Davao is slated to begin operations on July 30, 2026.

Located in a 5,384 square meter prime property at Eco West Drive in Davao City, Hotel101-Davao will include a concessionaire-operated all-day dining kitchen, a fitness gym, full-size swimming pool, function/conference rooms and a helipad.

Hotel101-Davao is part of DoubleDragon’s quest to have its highest number of room openings in a year this 2026, with a total of 2,229 hotel rooms slated to be operational.

Also included for its room openings for 2026 are the 680 rooms in the recently opened Madrid, Spain, as well as 548 rooms in Cebu and 482 rooms in Japan.

This year, the company said it would also start generating high volume of recurring revenues from its portfolio of provincial community mall leasing, industrial warehouse leasing, office leasing and its hospitality portfolio in the Philippines and overseas.

The global expansion of Hotel101 is expected to eventually become one of the major dollar inflow generators of the Philippine economy.

Hotel101 Global’s vision is to develop one million standardized rooms across 100 countries.
