NBA hosts 3-on-3 tourney
MANILA, Philippines – Hoop fans all over the country had serious fun last week as they suited up to take part in NBA’s 3-on-3 basketball competition held at the IMAX Theater Lobby at SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City.
NBA legend Horace Grant graced the three-day event (July 1-3), which drew a sizable number of participants who signed up in each of the six categories.
Presented by Sprite, the tournament is the NBA’s first ever in the ASEAN region, and the league made sure to make it memorable. A number of side events were lined up, including a slam dunk contest, a skills competition, and performances by the NBA’s dance team, among others.

In an interview, NBA Asia managing director Scott Levy was upbeat on the crowd turnout during the event.
