Critical health issues? May the best taxpayers win!

READER'S VIEWS - The Freeman

One way for controversial food and beverage industries to survive despite the criticism about their lies to consumers is to pay taxes.

You've heard it many times in social media that there are lies in the market that are filtering the dark side of a product, particularly in the food and beverage industries. If you are not health-conscious or have not been advised by your doctor to watch your intake because your chronic disease is getting worse, you probably won't find interest to read this article.

Be aware that, as consumers, you've been enticed by different products every day. From social media, in malls, and on the sidewalk, you can see the food and drinks that you cannot control your cravings for. If you have money, buying them is not a problem. However, the effects of consuming them regularly give your body a health problem. If, at a young age, you are now diagnosed with serious health problems, who should be blamed? Is it your undisciplined eating and drinking habit, or is it the availability of these products?

Agon Hare, the famous content creator of Project Nightfall, exposed in one of his videos the lies of McDonald’s. He shared how the food industry hides a big fat lie to keep people addicted to Coke, Sprite, burgers, and fries. One example he gave is that the famous French fries at McDonald's are loaded with chemicals. Other than the potato ingredient, this food is made up of ten other ingredients: Potatoes, Vegetable oil, canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil, dextrose, sodium acid pyrophosphate, salt, and natural beef flavor. Another substance that is present to most McDonald's products is acrylamide. It is formed as part of a chemical reaction known as the Maillard Reaction, which contributes to the aroma, taste, and color of cooked foods. This is harmful to humans, according to the Department of Health and Human Services.

You may think that this information regarding the lies of some food industries is hard to believe, remember that 70% of cancer issues are caused by food. Even if McDonald’s and other food and beverage industries are not serious about this, they cannot be easily taken down since they have become one of the backbones of the local and global economies. They pay taxes, they give job opportunities, they make good business partnerships, and they give color to lifestyle and culture. In the end, they also contribute to the rising death toll of people who die due to chronic diseases.

The availability of junk food in society cannot be the only reason why you get diagnosed with a critical illness. Your awareness, eating habits, and lifestyle also count. Therefore, invest in your good health and longevity if you don't want to experience unfair treatment once you are confined to your local hospitals. You cannot be seriously ill. Some hospitals cannot treat you well if you cannot afford medical treatment.

Don't die being ignorant and incapable. The worst is don't get seriously ill. It's possible you will not be treated well in the hospital, even if you pay your taxes regularly. Survive!
