BJ Zosa fired 27 points while Marven Bauya tossed in 23 markers as Batch 2011/12 booted out Helm Construction & Supplies Batch 2014, 70-63.
On the other hand, Jessie Magno sizzled with 19 points while Harold Tan and Joseph Baluyos Jr. cashed in 12 points apiece as Batch 2007/08/09 ousted Amorina Cleaning Services Batch 2013, 60-53.
In Division B, Bayfront Hotel Batch 1993/96 and Cebu Lucky Machinery Batch 2001 pulled off crucial wins to advance to the semifinal round.
In a dazzling one-man show, Cedric Chua unloaded 29 points on top of four rebounds and four assists to power Batch 1993/96 to a 65-39 thrashing of Dimsum Frito Batch 2003/2004.
In other match-up, Eric Cabana dropped 19 points and Paul Gabatan added 11 points as Batch 2001 terminated Alin Customs Brokerage Batch 1997 in decisive fashion, 47-33.
Batch 1993/96 and Batch 2001 though still have a mountain to climb as they square off against twice-to-beat foes in the semis.
Batch 1993/96 will lock horns with the top seeded Fuente Oro Business Suites Batch 1994/99 while Batch 2001 will collide with the second-ranked Tiger Tank Batch 1995.
