Team Kobe, Aiperon keep clean slates in Hoops Arlon Cup

CEBU, Philippines —  Team Kobe and Aiperon International Fighters sustained their unbeaten run in Hoop Nation’s Arlon Cup Season 1 over the weekend at the City Sports Club-Cebu gym.

Jonas Mejos came up with a stellar double-double show of 21 points and 13 rebounds as the red-hot Team Kobe whipped Clutch City, 73-62.

Mejos also had four assists and a block for Team Kobe, which tightened its grip of the solo lead in East Division with an immaculate 6-0 slate.

In the other East game, Jestone Del Pilar scattered 15 points, four rebounds and two assists as MEQ Builders downed the Punisher, 81-74, to even  its record to 3-3.

Both the Punisher and Clutch City dropped to 1-4.

Over in the West, Anthony Logronio charted 14 points, 11 rebounds and six assists as the Aiperon mauled KJK Reino, 73-61, to stretch its undefeated streak to 4-0.

KJK Reino, on the other hand, suffered its third loss in five starts in the three-month tournament organized by Adrian Dy, who established Hoop Nation in 2015. — EBV
