CEBU, Philippines —  A 26-year-old man who jumped off the Marcelo Fernan Bridge at the side of Barangay Umapad, Mandaue City around 7 p.m. last Friday was saved by fishermen after his body was washed ashore in Liloan, Cebu.

Police Master Sergeant Dennis Singson of the Lapu-Lapu City Police Station 5 said they received the report about a man who jumped off the bridge at around 8 p.m. already.

Singson added that they were also informed that some fishermen were able to save the man after his body was already washed ashore in the nearby municipality of Liloan, Cebu.

He added that they would need to investigate further on the incident, as the victim reportedly refused to answer their questions during the interrogation.

The FREEMAN has withheld the name of the victim who is a resident of Barangay Labangon, Cebu City.

Meanwhile, the authorities have advised the family of the man whose dead body was found inside a cage for snakes in Barangay Cansaga, Consolacion, Cebu to have his corpse undergo an autopsy.
