CEBU, Philippines - Eight people, including twin brothers, were arrested by the police in two separate anti-drug operations in Cebu province over the past two days.

Twin siblings Louies and Louie Galeos, 23, were caught in the act of selling illegal drugs to undercover policeman in Barangay Tangil, Dumanjug last Friday afternoon.

The twin brothers were subjected to a buy-bust operation by the members of Dumanjug Police Station led by its commander, Senior Inspector Jose Rovic Villarin.

The suspects sold four small packs of shabu worth P400 to Police Office 2 Danny Camero. The twins are said to be in the police list of suspected drug personalities in the town.

The twin brothers are set to face criminal charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

In another operation, six people were arrested Thursday night in Barangay Pulpogan, Consolacion.

The suspects were identified as Jean Pitogo, 31; Jocel Matos, 24; Jazz Rasonable, 24; Jay Ar Awanan, 23,  Joehen Buenaflor, 35; and Fritz Arsenio, 40.

The suspects were allegedly sniffing drugs inside a house in Barangay Pulpogan.

PO1 Albert Jimenez, desk officer of Consolacion Police Station, said that they were conducting preventive patrol in the barangay when they were informed about the ongoing drug session nearby.

The team verified the information and caught the suspects in the act of committing the crime. At least two people inside the house were able to elude arrest.

The police recovered a pack of suspected shabu from Pitogo, Matos, and Buenaflor, while drug paraphernalia were taken from Rasonable, Awanan, and Arsenio.

Criminal complaints for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are now being prepared for filing. —  (FREEMAN)
