“Cheating” wife, lover arrested

CEBU, Philippines - A 26-year-old woman was arrested after she was caught by her husband and the police in the act of having sexual intercourse with another man in the couple’s house in Barangay Lamesa, Balamban town past midnight yesterday.

The husband and his brother had to destroy the door to the couple’s home to get inside and then saw the wife naked with a 23-year-old man who was later identified as the husband’s close friend.  

In a telephone interview, the 32-year-old husband said that he received a report from his neighbors two months ago telling him that his wife was having an affair with his friend, who is a delivery van driver.

The husband said he had no idea who the man was so he continued observing his wife to check if the reports were true.

But the husband said he has not gone home recently because he respected his wife’s plea for a “cool-off” in order to preserve their nine-year marriage.  

 “Ako ra gyod unta nga gi-utong sir kay gawas nga gimahal naku akong asawa, di ko gusto nga mabungkag ang pamilya namo,” the husband said.

On Tuesday night, he said he received a text message from someone that his wife’s lover was in their house so he asked assistance from his brother and from the personnel of the Balamban Police Station.

When the husband and his brother destroyed the door, they saw his wife and the man naked on the bed.

The husband said that he was surprised to discover that his wife’s lover was his close friend whom he sometimes invited to his house.

 “Mura ko og nakalitan sir uy, amigo pa g’yud naku diay ang lalaki, wala gyu’y mga sinina ang duha,” the husband said.

The lovers were asked to put on their clothes and were brought to the police station.

The husband said that he will file charges against his wife and his friend, adding he will not make amends with his wife even if she will beg for forgiveness.

 “Di na ko ganahan mokaon anang pagkaon sir nga gihu-ong na ug lain, di man gani ta mokaon ug hugaw kana naba’ng gikaon na sa uban,” the husband said.

He admitted that he wanted to kill his wife and his lover but he was advised by his brother not to do it for the sake of his children.

“Misalig na lang ko sa Ginoo sir kay unsaon nalang ug mahimo kung kriminal nga gagmay pa kaayo akong mga anak,” he added.

The lovers were brought to the police station and the police are now preparing adultery charges to be filed against them. — (FREEMAN)
