It’s official!: Rogelie to switch titles with Christi

CEBU, Philippines - Cebuana Rogelie Catacutan is now Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015 – the same title that Kris Tiffany Janson, also of Cebu, won last year.

This development was posted by Jonas Borces of Kagandahang Flores Cebu (Catacutan’s beauty pageant camp) in his Facebook account yesterday, which was then reported by Missosology Philippines.

The 23-year-old registered nurse and resident of Lahug, Cebu City was announced as Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2015 during the pageant’s coronation night held Sunday at the Araneta Coliseum.

However, a switch between her and fellow winner Christi Lynn McGarry (who was proclaimed Binibining Pilipinas Intercontinental 2015) had to be done as the latter had already competed in Miss Intercontinental in 2010.

McGarry, a Fil-Am, bagged the Mutya ng Pilipinas Asia-Pacific title in 2010, giving her the right to represent the country in that year’s Miss Intercontinental. She placed in the Top 15 and bagged the Queen of Asia and Oceania award.

The Binibining Pilipinas 2015 judges were reportedly not privy to this detail.

Catacutan will follow in the footsteps of Janson, who placed second runner-up to Thailand’s rep during last December’s Miss Intercontinental 2015 finals held in Germany.

Meanwhile, McGarry will now be officially Binibining Pilipinas Supranational 2015. (FREEMAN)
