Gordon Ramsay  brings new dining  concepts to Cebu

CEBU, Philippines — British celebrity chef Gordon Ramsay is set to expand his footprint in the Philippines’ fast-growing food and beverage sector, with the launch of two new restaurant concepts at the Mactan Newtown Township in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu, developer Megaworld Corporation announced.

Following the successful debut of Gordon Ramsay Bar & Grill at Newport World Resorts in Metro Manila earlier this year, Ramsay will introduce Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips and Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay—marking the first time both brands will open side-by-side locations in the country. The new establishments are expected to open by mid-2025.

The move comes after Ramsay’s landmark first visit to Manila, signaling the chef’s growing ambitions in Asia and the continued international expansion of his global restaurant portfolio.

Positioned within one of Cebu’s premier beach destinations, the two casual dining concepts are expected to cater to both tourists and the growing residential community in Mactan.

Gordon Ramsay Fish & Chips will offer a fast-casual menu built around Ramsay’s modern take on the British classic, alongside items such as Lobster & Shrimp, Dirty Chips, and handcrafted milkshakes.

Next door, Street Burger by Gordon Ramsay will feature a bold, American diner-inspired lineup, including the signature Idiot Burger, G.F.C. (Gordon’s Fried Chicken) Burger, and O.G.R. Burger.

“Cebu is a dynamic center of tourism in the Philippines, and our township in Mactan Island is the perfect tourism hub in a prime location near the airport,” said Kevin L. Tan, Executive Chairman of Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc., a subsidiary of Megaworld.

“With the entry of Gordon Ramsay’s restaurant brands, we are further enhancing the township’s appeal, not just for visitors but also for the community living and working here,” Tan added.

The 30-hectare Mactan Newtown Township integrates residential, commercial, and leisure developments, including two hotels with over 1,100 rooms.

The township will soon be home to the Mactan Expo, set to become Cebu’s largest stand-alone convention center, as well as additional residential towers, office buildings, the Newtown School of Excellence, and the upcoming Mactan World Museum. — (FREEMAN)
