CEBU, Philippines —  Gathered with great enthusiasm, a dynamic assembly of nearly 200 participants, comprising representatives from diverse sectors in both Cebu and India, converged at the Radisson Blu Hotel for the India Business Roadshow on November 15, 2023.

The event not only showcased opportunities for collaboration but also marked a historic moment as the Cebu Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) and the Indian Business Forum (IBF) officially inked a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU).

The signing ceremony, held amidst a dynamic gathering of industry leaders, entrepreneurs, and professionals, served as a compelling testament to the commitment of both CCCI and IBF to fortify their collaboration. IBF, with a strategic focus on cultivating foreign direct investment, sought to establish a robust alliance with CCCI. In response, CCCI pledged essential support, aiming to enhance business opportunities and foster connections for the Indian business community.

The event also garnered the support of several government agencies, including the Department of Agriculture, Department of Energy, Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Department of Health, National Economic and Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Department of Tourism, and Department of Trade and Industry. These agencies expressed their commitment to collaborate, extend assistance, and offer services to IBF as needed.

CCCI and IBF, along with their partners and investors, signaled a united front for the economic prosperity of both Cebu and India. A series of panel discussions ensued, delving into critical sectors such as Cebu's food security, energy and infrastructure, technology, healthcare and pharmaceuticals, and tourism.

The event was graced by notable figures, including His Excellency Shambhu S. Kumaran, the Ambassador of India to the Philippines, and Honorable Alvin Garcia, Vice Mayor of the City of Cebu. The occasion was further enriched by the presence of senior representatives from various business sectors, fostering networking opportunities and facilitating engaging business-to-business (B2B) meetings.
