MANILA, Philippines — The Philippine esports team Sibol looks forward to the big battles ahead after delivering two golds, one silver and three bronzes in the recent 32nd Southeast Asian Games in Cambodia.

Sibol’s Wild Rift and Mobile Legends Men’s team reigned supreme while Mobile Legends Women’s took runner-up honors and bets in Crossfire, Valorant and PUBG Mobile-Individual took podium finishes in a stellar performance in Phnom Penh.

This augurs well as Sibol shifts focus to the 15th IESF World Esports Championships in Iasi, Romania beginning Aug. 23 and the 19th Asian Games in Hangzhou, China the following month.

“We started with our national grassroots program recently. And from what we saw in the SEA Games, it has already made a big difference,” said Philippine Esports Organization (PESO) executive director Marlon Marcelo. “Now we’re looking to continue to build on our success and keep giving back to the Philippine esports community.”

Throughout this journey, Sibol enjoys the backing of Mediaquest Holdings, Inc. through its subsidiaries TV5 and Cignal.

“I have always been a big fan of our esports athletes,” said Mediaquest president and CEO Jane Basas. “It truly warms my heart to see how well they have been doing and how they just keep getting better. We will continue to give them our unwavering support.”
