MANILA, Philippines — Tragedy struck the Philippine football community Sunday following the death of the FEU football team's Kieth Absalon.

Absalon, 21, passed away in his hometown of Masbate.

The Tiebreaker Times' Lorenzo del Carmen was the first to report the booter's untimely death.

The booter has been with FEU since 2012 and was part of a very successful FEU-Diliman Baby Tamaraws team that won 10 straight championships in the UAAP High School Boy's Division.

He was also named MVP in Season 78, and was a member of the roster of the FEU seniors team for UAAP Season 82 before the pandemic forced the collegiate league to suspend its activities.

Absalon is survived by his two siblings who are also football players. Nathalie plays for the UST Women's Football Team, while his younger brother Karl is with the FEU program.
