Casimero in must-win fight, eyes showdown with Tete
MANILA, Philippines – WBO interim bantamweight champion Johnriel Casimero is looking forward to a possible clash with Zolaine Tete for the regular version of the crown.
But first, Casimero has to take care of business against Mexican Cesar Ramirez on Saturday at the San Andres Civic and Sports Center..
"Yung target talaga namin yung sa championship ng WBO, pero nagfofocus din kami sa darating na laban ngayon," Casimero said in an interview with Philstar.com.
Casimero will put his interim belt on the line against Ramirez in a fight wherein he’ll be enjoying home advantage.
"Maganda kasi dito ako lalaban ulit sa Pilipinas. Pinaghandaan ko talaga para manalo tsaka magandang opportunity sa akin kasi dito yung laban para makapagdepensa ng belt," he said.
The 30-year-old promises to put on a show for the hometown fans on Saturday.
"Wag niyong palagpasin yung laban na to kasi maganda yung ipapakita ko," he said.
