Ty Lue inks assistant coaching deal with LA Clippers

MANILA, Philippines — Former Cavaliers coach Ty Lue is set to be a top assistant coach with the Los Angeles Clippers.

Per Shams Charania of The Athletic, Lue will be at the sidelines as part of Doc Rivers' staff this coming NBA season.

Former Cavaliers championship coach Ty Lue has agreed on deal to join the Los Angeles Clippers as the top assistant coach on Doc Rivers’ staff, league sources tell @TheAthleticNBA @Stadium.

Lue was earlier considered for the head coach position with the Los Angeles Lakers but could not agree to terms.

This will not be the first time that Lue will be an assistant to Rivers.

The duo had been together in 2011 to 2013 in the Boston Celtics then from 2013 to 2014 in the Clippers.
