Ty Lue declines Lakers coaching offer
QUEZON CITY, Philippines — Talks between former Cavaliers coach Ty Lue and the Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly failed after Lue turned down a three-year offer from the marquee franchise.
Per a report from ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski, Lue turned down a three-year, $18-million offer from the Lakers.
Lue's camp was reportedly seeking a five-year deal with a much higher salary.
Lue had been a preferred choice for Lakers star LeBron James, who had worked with the coach during his recent stint with the Cavaliers.
With both Monty Williams and Lue passing on the coaching job, the franchise will continue its search for its next head coach.
